Latest Updates from Our Project:
Latin American Monsters PF2E Beta is up! And Backerkit survey is almost ready!

Hi all,
The Beta file for Latin American Monsters for Pathfinder Second Edition is up and out to you through DrivethruRPG! Our PF2 team is hard at work cinching up the final pieces of the Boricubos: The Lost Isles Beta book for you as well, and we'll have it on the way to you ASAP.
This Beta version features the debut of the Pronunciation Guide, which is located at the end of the book in Appendix B! We'll be incorporating it into the final versions of all three books, as well as some special acknowledgements.
A quick note about PF2 formatting: The TRAITS line of each stat block (featuring things like alignment, size, and creature type) is still in temp format, as implementing those colored boxes is a little tricky in layout if you later need to move them, so we'll wait until we are ready to go final to get those finalized. If you spot any other error issues, please let us know in the comments of this update, but that is not an issue to worry about (ditto for the OGL text overlapping the page border at the end of the book).
BACKERKITSURVEY UPDATE: We submitted the Backerkit survey on Wednesday night and have been working with our rep on a couple of issues while their team reviews the survey as a whole. We are up against the weekend, so we'll see if we get final approvals or any revisions needed back from them by tonight. If we do, we can send out our "smoke test" to 5% of backers first, and then assuming all goes well we can send it out to everyone. If we don't get it tonight, we'll kick it off on Monday instead.
VTT TOKEN PACK UPDATE: Because of the way add-ons work in Backerkit vs. the Kickstarter Add-Ons system, we've had to tweak part of the survey and pledge question for people who did the Add-On for VTT Token Packs, where you had a variable amount to pledge based on which Token Packs you were getting. We've deleted that as a standalone pledge item, which will leave you with a credit on your Kickstarter pledge, and then our Backerkit rep set up a pledge survey question where you can take that credit and select the Token Packs you want one by one. Kickstarter Add-Ons is a bit of a new thing and we're all figuring out the best way to make it work, and this was thankfully an easy one to handle.
Happy reading to our PF2 fans and we look forward to getting you the Boricubos book very soon! Check your DrivethruRPG for the download and enjoy!
Pronunciation Guide for Latin American Monsters complete
about 3 years ago
– Fri, Sep 24, 2021 at 11:59:49 PM
Hi all,
Just a quick note to let you know that our pronunciation guide for this book has been assembled and is being reviewed by our team to cross-check things. We hope you'll find it useful when you finally get your books, as many pronunciations are not necessarily intuitive to the way a native English speaker might expect.
This will be added as AppendixB to all three versions of the bestiary and will be added when we do the final revisions for publication. The Beta PF2 version of Latin American Monsters, like the PF1 and 5E Beta versions, will not include this section. It's in layout now and I'm hopeful to get it out to you this weekend barring any unforeseen hiccups.
Speaking of PF2, I've also sent over Part 2 of Boricubos: The Lost Isles for PF2 to layout, including magic items, spells, class feats, archetypes, equipment, and adventure hooks, so that is in process. The shaman team is hard at work and making terrific progress, and we have a couple of monsters from the Boricubos side that got left on the side of the road in the rush to finish all the Latin American Monsters creatures, but they'll be in soon as well.
One week post our fantastic finish and things are rocking along nicely. We'll be prepping the stretch goal items for Boricubos soon, once we've got the PF2 beta version finalized for you!
As always, thanks for your amazing support and have a truly Legendary week!
PS - If you're a previous backer from one of our Quickstarters this year, we have sent out an email notice for locking addresses. We're still awaiting delivery of our books from the port, but we're already getting our spreadsheets ready to start printing mailing labels and want to make sure everyone's info is finalized! If that's you and there's a change we need to know about, check your email or just log onto Backerkit!
Latin American Monsters (PFRPG) Beta is up!

Hi all,
Just a quick heads-up to announce that the PathfinderRPG Beta version of Latin American Monsters has just gone out to backers via DrivethruRPG. Check your downloads there (and make sure you're logged in on Drivethru to access your files; it sounds like a silly reminder but it's happened more than once!) and check it out.
The Pathfinder Second Edition version of Latin American Monsters is in layout now and should hopefully be ready to send out by the end of the week.
The PathfinderSecond Edition version of Boricubos: The Lost Isles is close to finished, but we discovered a big missing chunk on the shaman class and some class archetypes that we're cranking through now with the team to get it ready.
Once we have the Beta versions of all six files up and out for your review, we'll turn to finalizing each one so we can get them ready for you and for the printers!
Thanks again for all of your awesome support of this project and happy reading! As with the previous update, please leave any errors you happen to catch in the comments below.
It's a Good Morning! Now What About Errors?

Hi all,
A lovely night's sleep, a pleasant rainy morning, and all is right with the world. Last night I sent out both 5E Beta files and the PF1 Beta file for Boricubos. We should have the PF1 Beta file for Latin American Monsters ready for you tomorrow and the PF2 version will start layout as soon as that one is complete.
That said, we are creating an awful lot of content with these books, and while we are very careful and thoughtful and thorough in what we do, thousands of eyes are always better than just those on staff! If you happen to catch a typo, formatting error, rules glitch, missing text, or what looks like an errant cut-and-paste that we somehow missed, by all means please let us know! We've had this question before in previous KS and one or two folks have asked it, so for the sake of simplicity I'll say post any error notes as replies to this update. That way if someone else spots an error they can check here and see if someone has already done it!
Thanks for your assistance with making these books the very best they can be before we go to the final versions!
Two Thousand Thank Yous, and then some!

Thanks to everyone who became a part of this project! That's every one of you, and we appreciate your contributions from the bottom of our hearts! This has been our most-backed and most-funded Kickstarter, and we wanted to throw out special shout-outs to wtnewman, who was our very first Backer #2000, to JarianR. for joining our Circle of Elders and crossing the $110,000 mark, and to the very last backer, coming in with just 2 minutes to spare, J.Santerre as backer #2045!
Time for a deep breath!
So now that it's all over, what comes next?
I'm working with our layout folks right now on finalizing the Beta versions of these books for each of you. We'll be cross-checking things and should start sending the files out to everyone shortly. The PF1 and 5E versions of both books should be ready within the next day or two. I'm doing the bookmarking and hyperlinking on the PF2 version of Latin American Monsters as we speak, but I'm missing 3 stat blocks from one of our freelancers and waiting to get those in so I can finalize it. Once I have those in hand, that will get buttoned up and sent to layout and should be ready in a few days. PDFs will get sent out as they get approved and finished, so don't worry if you don't get them all at once.
Layout on the first half of the PF2 version of Boricubos: The Lost Isles is finished in review and has been sent back to layout for format corrections. The second half of the book still has some bits and pieces we're assembling. Some of the class archetypes/class feats are not quite finished yet, and I'm waiting on the magic items document to come back. I'm pretty sure everything else is in, but we're still on final assembly. That book should be finished up and over to layout next week.
These are Beta versions of each book and do not include all of the stretch goal items. The mythic monsters for PF1 in the last-minute bonus bit we decided to do are in, as are the spells and magic items, though we had a few extra ideas that might still get in pending any extra room. The adventures are written for all three versions and just waiting on an editing pass to clean up and get ready. The iconic characters are still being written. The pronunciation guide is also still in progress.
We are creating these Beta versions so that you can have 95% of the awesome material in these books right away. We got most of the work done on our stretch goals before and during the Kickstarter, but now that we know where the final funding landed and which goals got met--ALL of them!!--we will be giving those parts the fine tuning and getting them ready for a final release, including incorporating our beloved Circle of Elders backers!
Beta files will be sent out via DrivethruRPG. If you don't already have an account there, it's quick, easy, and free to create. Because of how the Kickstarter data output comes out, the initial wave of files we send out will be based on pledge levels and will not include add-ons. Once we're able to get more detailed reports, we'll send out add-on files as well.
The final files will be posted through Backerkit and can be downloaded there once we get the pledge manager survey set up and sent out, which will be two weeks from today on September 30. You'll be able to add items to your pledge, input your address (and even update it later if you move).
Once again, thank you for your awesome support. We appreciate everything you do for us and for the gaming community as a whole by supporting smaller companies with big dreams! Together we are Legendary!
