Latin American Monsters FINAL PDFs going out this weekend!

Hi all, 

Updates ahoy! 

• We just sent out the FINAL version of Latin American Monsters for Pathfinder 2E last night, and the PF1 and 5E versions are just waiting on layout to fix some missing italics and a missing word I spotted on final review but they should be going out this weekend! Final page counts are 120 for 5E and PF2, and 132 for PF1. Not surprising, given that PF1 stat blocks take up more room. We will be submitting the PF1 and PF2 versions to our print-on-demand service to start that process, while the 5E book files will be going to our overseas printer for a full offset print run. All versions include the Pronunciation Guide, and we hope you love the detailed information it contains! 
• Boricubos Update: I got some development work done on the FINAL files for these during my trips. The adventures are coming together nicely. I have the final maps back for those as well. We are still waiting on some of the iconic characters to get finished but those are the last unfinished pieces we're waiting for.
• Mother of Monsters Quickstarter Launches Next Week! Our first-adventure Quickstarter is set to launch Monday morning (with the flexibility to push to Tuesday if we need an extra day for any last-minute anything), bringing you 200 pages of amazing adventure plus new class options, races, monsters, magic items, deities, world lore, and more for a campaign inspired by Greek mythology and set in the Kagari Islands! It's a little different archipelago from Boricubos but no less exciting a place for adventure! Like our previous Quickstarters, this short project (just 23 days, ending November 24) is already complete and ready to deliver PDFs immediately and start the printing and shipping process as soon as the KS is complete. Boricubos PF2 Beta is UP! Next Quickstarter is coming!

Hi all,

Thanks for your patience. The Beta version is now available for download through Backerkit to everyone who pledged for it as their main book or got it as an add-on. I've been traveling a lot the past two weeks (returning home at last Friday night) but as I'm able I've also been working on finalizing the 5E and PF1 versions of Boricubos. The adventure development is finished on PF1 and in progress on 5E. Our team is also working on the iconic characters for the new Boricubos races/ancestries and those are about halfway finished now. Miguel is also working on a pronunciation guide for the book as a special add-on.

We are hoping to have final versions on Latin American Monsters starting to roll out by the beginning of November, so things keep rolling along. 

We've had a fantastic response to our Backerkit survey, almost up to 90% returned, so we thank all of you for your prompt attention. If you haven't had a chance to complete your survey, please do at your earliest convenience so we can make sure we get everything you need into your hands as soon as possible! 

So, what's next? 

With all six Beta PDFs for Boricubos/Latin American Monsters and the final editions moving right along, we are pleased to present our next Quickstarter monster project from another of our teams: Mother of Monsters! This one isn't a bestiary book; instead, it's a new adventure saga inspired by Greek mythology, set amidst the Kagari Islands and featuring new monsters, class options, and more. This passion project by Adrian Arduini has been percolating the past few years in the background, and art and layout are done! The adventure has been printed, revised, and resubmitted for print. He has future installments already written with terrific guest authors like Ron Lundeen and David N. Ross, but those are a potential project for another time. This campaign setting and introductory adventure are entirely self-contained and tell a complete story on their own!

This will be a Quickstarter like those early in the year, around 20 days with immediate PDF delivery at the conclusion of the project. Unlike the Boricubos Kickstarter, this project is 5E only, with no stretch goals, just an awesome adventure and campaign book ready to go (though we'll have a few relevant add-ons available for those that want them, like Sea Monsters for expanding the nautical side of this campaign).

This is our first adventure-focused Quickstarter, and we're excited to see how you like it! We are getting the Kickstarter page ready to preview soon and aim for launching around the end of October/beginning of November. Thanks for your amazing support and we are so excited to get your books up, up, and awayyy, with new projects ready for you too!

Great Response So Far - and an Answer about VTT Tokens!

Thanks so much for your speedy responses to our Backerkit survey. We've got over 1200 replies back already - 60% of our backers! If you haven't had a chance to log into Backerkit and give it a look, please pop in to see if there is anything you'd like to add (or even just to say no thanks)! 

We're working on finalizing the three versions of Latin American Monsters and hope to have that complete this weekend. Boricubos has a little more spit and polish to do, as the person we had creating our "iconic NPCs" kind of disappeared so we had to reassign the work for that pair of stretch goals. 

VTT Token Pack Pricing: We did have one question that came up with several backers about the VTT Token Pack. Because we had so many add-ons to offer, we tried to group them together in some cases, and that caused some confusion on the Backerkit side, so rather than keep replying individually we're posting an update here:

The add-ons for the token pack in Kickstarter were a base of $3 (the cost of the smallest token pack), plus an extra amount for the larger token packs.

• $3 - Mythos (around 40 tokens)
• $5 - Sea Monsters (around 60) [add $2]
• $7 - Asian Monsters (around 90) [add $4]
• $8 - Latin American (around 110) [add $5]

If you're in Backerkit and only put in $3 for a token pack other than Mythos Monsters, that'll show up for now as a $3 credit, and then when you add in whatever pack(s) you want and the $3 applies against those. 

Thanks for letting us know that item was confusing. We'll always work to clarify and make sure things come out right! 

Upgrade from PDF to Print: Hey, just caught one more thing that a few backers have asked about. What if I have a PDF pledge and want to get print now? For most items, you should be able to just go in and upgrade your pledge to the print item; however, if we missed any of those upgrade links in there, just emails me at [email protected] (or better still, enter your query through Backerkit support, as that will send me an email and link me directly to your BK profile) and let me know what switch you'd like to make and I can go into Backerkit and switch your pledge type manually. If you haven't yet paid for the print version, it'll then prompt you with a balance owed for the upgrade in the system.

Hi all, two updates today! 

• The shaman class is complete for PF2, along with multiclass archetype, spirits, class feats, and more! That was the final missing piece, along with a handful of missing monsters, so the Beta version of Boricubos: The Lost Isles for PF2 is in layout now! 
• Our backer survey has been approved by Backerkit, and we've sent out our "Smoke Test" to 5% of backers to do a last check to make sure there are no issues with the survey before we send it to everyone. Assuming nothing untoward is there, we should be able to send out the final survey to everyone tomorrow night! 

Now that all six Beta versions are up and out to all of you, we'll be circling back to finalize things for each of the books, including some stretch goals that we hadn't had time to incorporate in the Beta versions. If you're a member of our Circle of Elders, make sure to email me back ASAP with how you'd like your name to appear on our Special Thanks page in each book! 

Latin American Monsters PF2E Beta is up! And Backerkit survey is almost ready!

Hi all,

The Beta file for Latin American Monsters for Pathfinder Second Edition is up and out to you through DrivethruRPG! Our PF2 team is hard at work cinching up the final pieces of the Boricubos: The Lost Isles Beta book for you as well, and we'll have it on the way to you ASAP.

This Beta version features the debut of the Pronunciation Guide, which is located at the end of the book in Appendix B! We'll be incorporating it into the final versions of all three books, as well as some special acknowledgements. 

A quick note about PF2 formatting: The TRAITS line of each stat block (featuring things like alignment, size, and creature type) is still in temp format, as implementing those colored boxes is a little tricky in layout if you later need to move them, so we'll wait until we are ready to go final to get those finalized. If you spot any other error issues, please let us know in the comments of this update, but that is not an issue to worry about (ditto for the OGL text overlapping the page border at the end of the book). 

BACKERKIT SURVEY UPDATE: We submitted the Backerkit survey on Wednesday night and have been working with our rep on a couple of issues while their team reviews the survey as a whole. We are up against the weekend, so we'll see if we get final approvals or any revisions needed back from them by tonight. If we do, we can send out our "smoke test" to 5% of backers first, and then assuming all goes well we can send it out to everyone. If we don't get it tonight, we'll kick it off on Monday instead. 

VTT TOKEN PACK UPDATE: Because of the way add-ons work in Backerkit vs. the Kickstarter Add-Ons system, we've had to tweak part of the survey and pledge question for people who did the Add-On for VTT Token Packs, where you had a variable amount to pledge based on which Token Packs you were getting. We've deleted that as a standalone pledge item, which will leave you with a credit on your Kickstarter pledge, and then our Backerkit rep set up a pledge survey question where you can take that credit and select the Token Packs you want one by one. Kickstarter Add-Ons is a bit of a new thing and we're all figuring out the best way to make it work, and this was thankfully an easy one to handle.
